Tamara Steward

Tamara Steward has been appointed the first chief equity officer for the city of Chattanooga by Mayor Tim Kelly. Steward will oversee the city’s new Department of Equity and Community Engagement as well as the Office of New Americans. A Chattanooga Native, Steward holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a master’s in business administration from Bryan College. She has previously worked with organizations included the Tennessee Valley Authority, Hamilton Health Care System, and Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority.
