TDEC: ARP Competitive Grant Manuals now available

The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation (TDEC) is excited to announce the release of the three grant manuals that will inform the upcoming competitive grant application process. The competitive grant program involves the allocation of $200 million towards three project types: regionalization ($100 million), water reuse ($50 million), and resource protection ($50 million). 

  • Regionalization: Activities designed to strategically connect rural Tennessee infrastructure to improve services and optimize capacity 
  • Water Reuse: The practice of capturing water that would otherwise be discarded, treating it to an appropriate level, and reusing it for beneficial purposes 
  • Resource Protection: Activities that protect water infrastructure assets, improve stormwater management, and provide water quality benefits through mimicking natural processes 

These grant manuals provide details regarding the application, eligibility information, submission guidelines, and more. Eligible grant applicants include all counties and cities, water utility districts and authorities, and for-profit water infrastructure systems, if in collaboration and/or partnership with another eligible entity. 501(c)(3) non-profits will also be eligible to apply under the resource protection grant offering. TDEC anticipates opening the application solicitation for these grants in May 2023. 

 

TDEC will be hosting two Competitive Grant Program webinars in April to provide a better understanding of the grants to potential applicants. These sessions will take place Tuesday, April 11th from 2:00-3:00 PM CT and Wednesday, April 12th from 10:00-11:00 AM CT. These sessions will be identical, so we encourage you to attend the session that works best for you. 

 

Registration for the webinars is optional but allows you to submit your questions ahead of the webinar. If you do not have questions to submit, you are not required to register for the workshop.
